How To Fit A Mortice Knob

Right tab

  1. Put the square spindle into the mortice knob and place through follower (square hole in lock or latch) in door.

  2. If your mortice knob has a split spindle make sure the split is vertical and the concave cut out is facing downwards. Do the grub screw up with the allen key provided. The grub screw is normally positioned under the handle.

  3. Make the screw holes.

  4. Remove the handle and pre drill a pilot hole for the screws. This is necessary as most doors are made of dense wood and will damage the screws if this procedure is not followed.

  5. Place the mortice knob with the bar back through the hole and attach the door handle with the screws provided.

  6. Put the handle on the other side of the door and mark the screw holes and repeat steps 2 to 5.

Your door knobs are now fitted and ready to use.
