A rim knob is used where you have a rim lock fitted to the surface of the door.
The rim knob comes in two parts, one knob with a spindle attached with a circular stop washer and the other knob which goes over the spindle.
The knob with the spindle attached needs to be inserted through the rim lock side until the spindle protrudes out the other side. Attach this to the door by threading the stop washer until it sits lightly on the surface. To stop the washer from rotating insert the two screws provided through the stop into the door.
Place the other rim knob over the spindle and mark the screw holes.
Remove the rim knob and pre drill a pilot hole for the screws. This is necessary as most doors are made of dense woould and will damage the screws if this procedure is not followed.
Place the rim knob over the spindle and attach with the screws provided.
