Rim Knob
The Rim Knob is a traditional type of door knob designed specifically to operate a Rim Latch or Rim Lock.
The Rim Knob comes in two parts.
1. A knob with a square profile threaded spindle incorporating a circular stop washer.
2. A second knob on a rose plate.
The knob with the spindle is passed through the rim lock or latch and secured with the circular stop washer on teh other side of the door.
The second knob is then placed over the protruding spindle and the rose plate is secured to door with screws.
Rim Latch
A rim latch is a device which attaches to the surface of the door, it incorporates a latch mechanism which is operated by a rim knob.
Rim Lock
A rim lock is a device which attaches to the surface of the door, it incorporates a latch mechanism which is operated by a key.
